WATER WELL IN SEME-OKUN (MISSEBO MARKET)

The location of our second water well has been dictated by scarce water resources in the very dynamic area of the Seme-Okun, Missebo Market in Cotonou. The area of Seme-Okun (Missebo Market) is one of the biggest markets in Cotonou, known for selling fabrics and furniture. Despite its size, as of summer of 2021, the market didn´t have any sanitary facilities nor any free, accessible and reliable water source for the thousands of sellers and visitors who pass through Missebo daily.

The completion of this water well has taken place in September 2021. Since the demand for the water well and community feedback has been exceptionally positive, Tiwani is planning a construction of the second water well in the Missebo Market area in 2022 in order to accommodate the needs of inhabitants and Missebo sellers.
