WATER WELL IN AWANOU

The first meeting in August 2021 has been held with the local community in Awanou, Sèmè-Podji (south-eastern Benin) to announce the erection of a new water well.  The Tiwani team, Moutiou Yessoufou and  Désiré Kanontin, have addressed the issues of "water deserts" - urban and peri-urban areas with no access to safe drinking water sources within 10 km distance from the local dwellings. After the initiative has been backed by Mr Marcellin Houngbo, politician and former governor of Sèmè-Kpodji, the construction works began.

The water well has been completed in August 2021 and has been in operation ever since, providing more than 20 local families with access to safe drinking water every day.
